Terms

The short version: this is a joke website. Nothing here is real, official or advice. Results are random. You're responsible for what you type and share. The site comes as it is, and we aren't liable for what you do with it.

1. Agreeing to these terms

Nonsense Dept. is run by REPLACE_ME ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

2. For entertainment only

Nonsense Dept. is a comedy website. Nothing on it is advice of any kind: not legal, medical, financial, psychological, career, relationship or pet-care advice. Magic 8-ball answers, friendship scores, translations, job titles and every other result are made up at random. Please don't make real decisions based on them.

3. Parody, not a government

The forms, stamps, permits, fines, certificates, receipts, case numbers and posters are parody. They are not issued by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any real government, court, police force, agency, company or official body, and they have no legal effect. Don't present them as real documents, and don't use them to deceive, threaten or mislead anyone.

4. Results are not about real people

Results are put together at random from pre-written word lists. They are not statements of fact about, or judgements of, any real person, including anyone whose name you enter. Any resemblance to real people or events is coincidental.

5. What you type and share is up to you

You're responsible for anything you type, upload or share using the site. Please don't use it to:

• harass, bully, threaten, shame or embarrass anyone;
• say false or damaging things about a real person, or impersonate anyone;
• share someone else's private information, or a photo of someone without their permission;
• post anything hateful, sexual, violent or illegal;
• break any law or anyone else's rights.

Photos you add to the Wanted poster stay on your device and are never uploaded to us. Only use photos you have the right to use.

6. Shared links and cards

A shared link carries your result, including any text you typed, inside the link itself. Anyone who has the link can see it. We don't store shared results, so we can't take a link back once you've sent it. Don't put anything private in a form.

7. The site changes often

We improve the word lists and add new content almost daily. Tools, wording and features may change or disappear at any time without notice. An old link may show slightly different wording after an update. We don't promise the site will always be available, error-free or the same as it was.

8. Our content

The site's text, word lists, drawings, design and code belong to us. You're welcome to share result cards and links for personal, non-commercial fun. Please don't copy the site or its word lists in bulk, or resell them. Names of other services shown on the site (such as messaging apps) belong to their owners and don't mean they endorse us.

9. Other services

The site links to other services, such as messaging apps for sharing and a page for donations. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for them.

10. No warranties

The site and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from using, or being unable to use, the site, or from anything you or anyone else creates, shares or does with it. This includes indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of data, and hurt feelings. The site is free, so if we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid to use it, which is nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer that can't be waived.

12. If someone complains about what you shared

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover any claims, costs or losses we face because of content you created or shared with the site, or because you broke these terms.

13. Reporting a problem

If a result is hurtful, a word list contains something it shouldn't, or someone is misusing the site, email pending@nonsensedept.fun. We read every report and fix lists quickly.

14. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The date below shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the law of REPLACE_ME. If any part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
